This year’s FISH 10K Race is
October 13, 2012 at the Community House
Friends In Service Here (F.I.S.H.) is the leading non-profit, non-sectarian, human services organization, focused on “neighbors helping neighbors” on Sanibel and Captiva. The 10K Race 4 FISH on October 13th is our key fundraising event for 2012. The race will be held at the Community House and is run in conjunction with the Fort Myers Track Club.
Our 3rd annual race on October 15, 2011 was a huge success. The weather was perfect—sunny skies with low humidity. There were 396 runners. Most of the runners came from Southwest Florida including Sanibel, Captiva, Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Naples, and Marco Island. Other runners came from other parts of Florida, Indiana, Ohio, California, Minnesota, New Jersey, Iowa, North Carolina, Maryland and Missouri. Our international runners came from Germany and Canada. In 2012 we expect to have more than 450 runners and their families come to Sanibel for the FISH 10K. Arthur Frommer, renowned travel writer, has named Sanibel as his #1 favorite place to visit. He calls it an “idyllic haven.” We hope you join us as we share our island with the 10K runners.
